Does anyone know how to get a replacement backplate for this bass? I’m pretty sure the one it has is not original. It is super thin wood and it snapped in half today at a gig.

My 83 was similar . Solid koa wings, 3 pc maple neck, vol, tone selector 3 position and off with q switch. Should be Schaller tuners with the cut so they share a screw for the A and D strings at the top mounting hole. Mine had the bronze logo, not the sticker.

Almost 10 months ago I started this thread. Also several unanswered phone calls. Not feeling the love from Alembic. Oh well.

Saw your sale thread... sorry it didn't work out for you, wish I could buy that one. Just not a good time. That's a sweet old bass though, and it'll make someone a good one.

These early Spoilers pretty much have all the same specifications. Here's what I found in the instrument file:

body: Solid Koa
neck: 3-piece Maple
scale: 32" medium
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic) ovals
pickups: AXY4
controls: volume, pickup selector switch, filter, Q-switch, mono output
originally made for: Guitar Shop, AZ
birthday: May 3, 1983
Also, there was a previous request and you can see it was in similar shape about ten years ago.
