For Trade 1981 Distillate
« on: July 26, 2022, 12:41:42 PM »
his is a feeler and I haven't fully settled on this yet, but still putting it out there. Have up for sale/trade a beautiful Alembic Distillate. The story behind this is the following:

I received this from a gentleman who got this from a friend who had passed. When I got it it was incomplete shambles. It was sent to the mothership over in California, and had a complete makeover. New fretboard, new frets, and new electronics minus the pickups. This is one of the early 80s, however One of the upgrades was changing out the pickup selector to a pan. This bass weighs roughly 9 to 9 and 1/2 lbs. It has been completely restored. I have the original knobs that came with the restored bass. On the bass currently our custom maple knobs that match.

I am looking to trade for a 5 string Alembic with similar electronics

The Electronics are

Pickup Pan (blend), Bass boost/cut, Treble boost/cut, Q switch, Filter Knob, and Volume.

nice bass.  i'm gonna assume medium scale?  shoulda had them put LEDs in the neck as long as it was having major surgery like that.  just sayin'. imho, of course.  gotten to the point where i won't own a bass without 'em.  i'd almost kill for a 9 lb. instrument that sounds good.  i think my lightest weight instrument right now is 11 lbs with the queen bee topping out at 13.5.  yikes!

good luck with your sale!
