Stanley Clarke Deluxe (retro body shape) on Reverb
« on: April 01, 2022, 02:02:11 PM »
Back in January there was a price query about a lovely Stanley Clarke Deluxe whose owner had sadly died:

https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=26783.0

It's now on sale on Reverb:

Wish I had the spare cash.

And here's a video of it when it was on sale at Sun Ridge a while back, although the demo isn't great:

It’s gorgeous, and I have been seriously checking it out.

It’s labeled as a SC Deluxe but the electronics are 20th Anniversary, so other Alembic heads, wouldn’t that change the name to like “SC Retro body?

Gorgeous, but the price put it in competition with Series models on there, which is a bit daunting.

Well custom is custom, so it's always hard to name Alembics. But this one is in the Retro body shape.

I find the pricing issue interesting, because it seems that (in the UK at least) the price of used instruments has risen a lot over the last couple of years. I don't know whether the same is true in other countries.

I agree with you prices have risen here but I don't know if any of those higher priced instruments are getting sold for the listed price. That would be interesting to find out.

One of my custom builds.  It is beautiful for sure.  A heavy one though.

It's been haunting me since I originally had seen it, as it had been built for my buddy here. I was really lucky to find it again and see it resurface and I couldn't let it go. The retro body, the specs, the condition , it was worth the stretch. Steve was great to deal with. It's still in the family so to speak...

Congrats, IMHO that's the nicest looking SC I've ever seen - simply beautiful!

I am floored by the story. Thanks for sharing and congrats: I wanted it a whole lot, but just couldn’t get to the party in time! Right on!
