Pickup Control Center Detent
« on: March 24, 2022, 10:07:13 AM »
Hello all,
Hello everyoneI am still enjoying my Stanley Clarke 1987. Is it possible to change the pick up control to one with a detent so that I can mix both pick ups without having to guess? Just thought I would ask. Has anyone else done this with an old bass?
Thanks

Yes - you can certainly have this upgrade done. It's only available with the additional buffer that makes the mix even do there's no drop in volume at the center.

It's not something that we have documented for field replacement, but if you are clever with electronics, or have a guitar or amp tech that is, you can have it done locally with a part supplied by us. Otherwise you can send the electronics to us and we can modify for you.

No - because of the numerous versions of the electronics self-serve could prove disastrous. To further this conversation, please email me with a photo of your electronics cavity and the serial number of your bass.

I'll have dad review this with me and get you the details for the parts you need.

Hi Mica, were you able to have your dad review this with you  so I can get the details for the parts I need?. Or What if I get another potentiator with a center detent, would that help? What do you all think?
Thanks

Hi David,

Suggest you wait until you hear back from Mica. You need additional parts for the circuit, Mica has already mentioned that the fix involves more than just adding a different potentiometer. I am guessing she also has to advise you as to how to install the parts once you receive them.... hang tight, all will be well!

That makes sense. Thanks Alot. I'll hang in there, who would know better than Ron and the team?
Thanks again

Hi
Any news on the possibility of obtaining a center detent for the selector pan for my old bass? Or maybe even the same one that’s in the newer models . If that is possible. Just curious.
