I love Mossmans, but......
« on: February 16, 2022, 09:56:26 PM »
I just stumbled across this ad for a wonderful guitar that I'd saved from Reverb a while back; this sale is ended, but I had to post it so you can read the description in the listing.  https://reverb.com/item/33559928-mossman-texas-plain

Enjoy,
Peter

Google translate is a wonderful thing!
Or, as that phrase reads after a couple passes through the translation software:
"The preview on Google is no different!"

Stuart Mossman was a huge influence when I first got interested in building guitars. I had the fortunate circumstance of restoring what had been a prize guitar at the Winfield, Kansas Championship one time, and it was while working on that guitar, and a sister to it that I realized something beyond C.F. Martin & Co. or Gibson even existed. If you enjoy Mossman's work, take a look at Augustino LoPrinzi. Play one if you ever get a chance.

*the Japanese language doesn't translate well with English in either direction. It often reads aloud in a humorous way, but as a good friend of mine found out while searching for banjo strings in Tokyo, phonetically, the same word is... ummm... a toilet. If the English language made any sense, lackadaisical would have something to do with a shortage of flowers.

I have worked on many ships over the years made in Japan. The operating manuals (circa 1979) were all like this (before Google translate). Try operating a 30,000 HP engine on a 1000’ container ship with gibberish like that!  :o   ;D
