Epic 4 Neck to body joint ?
« on: December 31, 2021, 04:45:41 AM »
Hi All,

I'm really curious about the Epic neck to body joint - it doesn't appear to be completely neck thru but its some sort of set neck - can anyone explain it or has anyone got pictures ?

Happy new year to you all for tomorrow

It says here  "We then attach a multi-laminated maple neck with a special "wedge" joint for matchless stability".

Here is another place to check out. There is no body cut out but you can see the neck and body joined.

The Epic, Excel and Orion are set neck instruments. When I had my custom fretless built I went with the Orion because I wanted the midrange bump you get with set necks and I have to say it meets that goal very well.

I’ve often wondered what I would do if the neck on my epic ever got to the point where adjusting the truss rods couldn’t be adjusted to get the neck where I like it anymore. For my fenders I could always buy a new neck but that’s not an option on Alembics. Bolt on necks scan be shimmed to correct the angle as well but, again, not so on alembics. What would my options be if I ever found myself in the position that I couldn’t fix my bass if it ever got to that point?

Unlike on a Fender, the neck is angled, and the bridge adjusts up and down. You won't run into the same types of limitations.
