Adding factory LED's
« on: December 16, 2021, 07:08:10 AM »
Does the factory do this? I would love to have the factory LED's added to my 1994 Epic V. I have some Fret Lights, but I would just prefer the real thing? Has someone done this? I know lead times are insane, but I am in no hurry and would happily wait.

I imagine Alembic will do just about anything, but it won’t be cheap.  Have you thought about finding one that already has LEDs and selling yours?  I suspect it would be significantly less expensive in the long run and you’d likely have your bass with LEDs a lot faster than waiting for a factory retrofit.

Bill's suggestion is a good one. To get some perspective you should call Mica and get a quote on a retrofit.

A few members here have fret leds installed post build without removing the fretboard from a UK company SIMMS.

Kenosha?  Welcome cheesehead brethren member.  I played an Alembic with Fret FX side led’s on it and didn’t really notice them.  That was at a Gathering in Northern Illinois many years ago.   There were piles of Alembics and everyone had a good time.

Paul (who longs for anther Midwest Gathering but questions if normalcy will ever return- perhaps summertime outdoors?)

I am rather new to the Alembic world. Just about a year now. I have a set of Fret FX's that I bought for my Modulus, but I really didn't want to do that. I am searching for another Alembic, but I am looking for older models (older than mine) and they probably won't have LED's either. Kind of a pickle actually.

I had a 76 with LEDs, but I don’t think they were common back then.
