Recently acquired a Europa, wanted to know more about it. Perfect compliment to my other two black Alembic's, and the sound is monstrous in the best way possible. SN: 93U7755.

Cool gold plated buttons.
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!

Here's what I was able to find out about your bass:

top: Very Flame Maple
accent: 2 Purpleheart pinstripes
body: Maple
neck: 7-piece Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 34" long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic) ovals
finish: Sheer black gloss with clear satin neck (like Jason Newsted)
backplates: brass
truss rod cover: brass with black obsidian plating*
pickups: Alembic MXY4
controls: "Europa" volume, pan, filter, Q-switch, bass cut/flat/boost, treble cut/flat/boost, mono output
originally made fr: Manny's Music, NY
birthday: not recorded, but likely late June or early July 1993

The original owner was in New York state.

also - the knobs are not original, and I don't think the tuners are either. The black obsidian coating was really cool looking, but the place that did it went out of business a long time ago.

Thank you!

The knobs are from Maximum Guitar Works. I put them on another bass as well. They have some heft to them and feel great.

Sure, here you go:

as an aside, the 1,000 kb restriction is really not friendly to modern day photos from any decent phone.

Sorry about that - the issue is that the photos from phones are so large that they scroll off for days and make the well thought out words of our members hard to read. It's been the best tradeoff so far.

I resize my photos with the Image Size app, very quick and easy to use :)

For example, I used the Image Size app to resize this photo

I ordered a chrome set of three for my elan and gold set of four for my black Europa. I hope it doesn't make the basses look blingy.

It's a good tradeoff. I didn't know how to resize photos till I googled it.

Jazzy - how they look initially put me off but I've gotten used to them and they feel real nice, especially in combination with the quality of the pots on our beloved basses.

Well if the knobs are as weighty as the brass alembic uses, the basses will be noticeably heavier. 😂🤔
