Very nice Bass, don't see too many red Alembics - so it always draws me in when I see one being listed. I'm no expert on pricing basses, but I buy a bunch so I guess I know what I feel it would be worth to me if I wanted to buy it. You can use the sold filter on Reverb to get an idea of what others have paid, although it doesn't always seem to show the actual amount - like when you offer less Reverb doesn't indicate that it sold for less than the asking price.
Using that you an get an idea of when someone thought it was close enough to start to try to work a deal, I'm guessing in most cases there's a negotiation that lands south of the asking price but not always. That and by seeing other listing and evaluating what others think based on the options they would consider if they were in the market for a bass that was similar to the one you are listing. Sometimes you'll see when a flipper purchased a bass and how much they marked it up for resale.
Based on what I saw, there's this really nice Blue ELAN (with a huge ding in it that was poorly patched). It was flipped on Reverb and you can clearly see the delta - makes me think anyone who notices realizes this is a money grab (the first seller took the damage into consideration and sold it at a reasonable price, the next guy puts lipstick on the pig and marks it up 50%). I think your bass is in much better shape and should be listed higher than the blue one on condition alone. Some take the approach of mark it way up and maybe someone will give you an offer that is in line with what you wanted in the first place. I guess it all depends on how quickly you want to sell it and how much you want to consider offers.
