F2-B Tune-up?

I recently acquired a 1978 F2-B.  It’s a bit noisy and is catching some radio frequency interference. 

From reading around here it sounds like replacing the capacitors could be a good place to start.  Is there a “go-to” place that does these kinds of repairs/refurbishments?  I’d be open to sending it in or finding someone local to Portland, OR.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

I bought a used F2-B that had issues…sent it back to the Mothership for TLC…came back “all better” and Aunt Mary threw in some stickers just for giggles, and…I don’t know why to send it anywhere else

You might try replacing tubes first. Bob at Eurotubes is close to you and you can get JJs for it.

Check the filter caps and plate resistors (although if they are metal film resistors, they should be fine). In all my old Fenders, the plate resistors start going and I get all kinds of crackling, hissing, etc. Anyone who has a lot of experience with AB765 Fenders should be able to get it back in shape, but Ed's advice is right on. The Mothership has all the high quality parts with which to do the repairs. You don't want cheap components being thrown in there.
