There are some good Facebook groups for GD gear resources, as well as Rukind.com, which I think has a lot of discussions about wiring this kind of rig.
The MC2300 is a fantastic amp, but it's so crazy heavy. Right now, you can even buy one from the Wall of Sound at the Sotheby's auction. Not going to be cheap (and they look pretty beat), but it's the real deal!
You could always bid on this!

You'd probably want to do a couple of mods to the 2300 (1/4" input and banana speaker outputs), but basically full range output of the F1X to an input of the 2300, then speaker out on that channel to your speaker. My understanding is that Jerry used one channel of the 2300, often with an impedance mismatch that would allow him to run the rig a bit harder without an increase in sound. The guy who I know who knows the most about this is Brad Sarno, who builds a rack mountable version of Jerry's preamp, as well as a lot of other really cool boxes, and is an excellent mastering engineer. And a hell of a nice guy who's always interested in spreading the knowledge.
