I've had this for several months and need to let a few go. This bass looks great, and feels even better. The neck feels especially wonderful - it's such a nice thin shape and has made it really easy to get across the strings. It's a beautiful six-string, and that's just one more string than I know what to do with right now... I keep muting the wrong strings. I'd much prefer to trade for a five-string (EADGC) or four-string and I'd love to trade for another fretless. I like filters, darker woods, interesting figuring... and am happily looking to trade within the more accessible Alembic models. If possible, I'd like to end up with some cash, but am happy to do an even swap given the right deal. I can't come out of pocket right now, but I'd really love to get this Alembic to someone else who will love it and play all six strings in return for an interesting 4/5 string I can love more easily.
Need to know:
- Located in Chicago - Super happy to turn this into a one-day road trip meet and swap
A previous owner added string-thru-body ferrules... here's what they said on a listing of this bass at Reverb: "The bass is all stock, with the exception that it was professionally modified to accept through-body stringing."
This was NOT my listing and I did not buy this bass through this or any other Reverb listing. I simply found this listing as I was doing some research on this model after I bought it. If I were keeping this bass, I'd find exotic hardwood dowels and fill the holes with something really beautiful. There's a small amount of rash on the back and a few very small dings - happy to share more pics if you'd like me to zoom in anywhere.
Here's the (NOT MINE) Reverb listing I found with a lot more pictures of this very same bass when it was being sold previously:
