This is one of the best-sounding basses I have ever played. And I’ve played a lot of Alembics. This one has IT. Coco Bolo front and back laminates. The maple has aged to a gorgeous yellow. The 5-piece neck features two purple heart laminates. The neck lug width is 1 3/4”, not the typical 1.5. The bass is in good shape for its age. Aside from some scuffs and surface scratches, there are three significant blemishes. The first two are noticeable only upon very close inspection - a small scratch or crack above the input jack - see pic. The second is a very small ding through the finish on the left side of the body. I tried to capture in in the pics, but it’s hard to see. And last, someone removed the Stanley Clarke signature headstock decal, removing the finish where it once was. It’s invisible from a distance but visible up close. Oh, and the original hard case is included, but the clasps are broken.
I’m asking $6,250 net to me. I would consider trade offers for an Alembic guitar, or high-end basses, preferably Alembic, and preferably 5- or 6-string. Thanks.
