or of any era for that matter.  imho, ymmv, etc. & so forth.

to this day that drum solo kinda set the bar for me whenever i'd audition a new drummer or listen to one show his chops.  it made quite an impression back in the late 60's on a wide-eyed 12-year-old and probably did as much any other musical influence to nudge me into being a rhythm section dweller.
Been down...now i'm out!

“In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” and Cream’s “Toad” contained THE two iconic drums solos of the era.

Every teenage boy who ever saw a drum set has tried that solo - or at least did back then; I could sort of make it through the first run across all the toms.
I am very sorry to hear he's gone (but glad to know there was there no truth to the rumor he'd died of a heart attack while trying to see how fast he could play that while on speed back in the late '70s).

Rick Johnson’s basement is where I first heard that epic 17 minute, life altering song.   The album was his brother Tom’s (I think he was a pot smoker  ??? ).   ;D

RIP Bushy and thank you.
