My favorite union president of all time (and I speak as both a retired Teamster & a labor historian), Ed Asner, passed away today at age 91.

A gifted actor, he made the rare transition of playing the same character in a comedy (MTM) and subsequently in a drama (Lou Grant).    And a true activist.
