Should have used my Alembic today

Because I wasn't sure about the location of my job today (outdoor festival), and how safe my Series 1 basses would be, I took another bass. Big mistake. I've been playing either of my Series 1's solidly going on 3 years now. I realized today how spoiled I am now with my Series basses. The speed of the attack that I get from my Alembics was not there on my sub bass, the ease of play and the clarity was missing, too. Since I got back with Alembic in 2018 I haven't touched my other basses in my collection. That says a lot.

Since I have started getting better and bigger gigs, i tend to use my series more than previously, but I am never complacent about security at gigs as it is rarely secure enough for me to leave my bass unattended on stage between soundcheck and showtime or backstage. I have read and seen too many horror stories from thefts to damage of gear. Usually I have a good quality gigbag and carry the bass with me when not playing it.
