Would Alembic ever build a modern hollowbody bass?
« on: June 30, 2021, 08:29:56 AM »
HI Everyone!
HI Mica!
I was wondering: Would Alembic ever consider building a modern version of a hollowbody bass? (i.e. kind of like the whizkid grandson of Big Brown)
I suspect there would be a demand for that kind of instrument. (Starting with me!)
...A beautifully made, high tech, modern Alembic hollowbody, loaded with state of the art Alembic pickups and electronics.
There is really nothing out there like that currently. The hollowbodies available today are nice, but nothing spectacular.
It is undeniable that the lineage of Alembic includes traces of a hollowbody bass.
What do you think?
Could this dream become a reality?
Thanks, Mark

Great question.  I would certainly be interested. And they now have the experience of producing acoustic guitars so...Mica?

This project was on the drawing board for 2019-2020 but we had to move :( then deal with COVID like everyone else.

So yes, don't be surprised to see this come to light in the next year or so.

I heard a rumour one time, such a thing might be coming - nice to hear confirmation.  :)
