Other than some chipping on the point of the peghead, it looks pretty nice.

Whoever buys it needs to have Dave as their first name.

This bass makes me think of Louis Johnson's Mid 70's Omega LSB.

Beautiful bass, I like the omega shape, it’s like Phil’s old bass, and Ken’s too I think.  The pickups look newer than 1976, the filters might be newer too.  It may have had the upgrade, there are blue and yellow things (resistors/transistors?) soldered on two of the four in the top left of the board.  But, I’m no electronics expert, just an observation. Threaded inserts too, which is nice.  Very nice!

the used alembic bass market is starting to parallel the denver housing market - somehow unaligned with reality but it keeps on rolling.

Starting bid:US $10,000.00

at least this one doesn't have a grotesque broken headstock or some boneheaded electronics modification.  plus it comes with a cool jacket with some one named dave's stank in it.

nice bass, good luck with that.
Been down...now i'm out!

Yes, the pickups are newer logo type, and have a little bit of extra space around them when looking at the pickup route size compared to the newer pickups. This bass has probably been to Alembic for some work. The A string bridge saddle has some filler or something on it. Flowing some solder into that saddle slot and re-filing it will fix that. If not for the price it would be a nice grab. It's easily 3k too much for me. If it was 5-6K it would move.

Yes, that soldering on the card; I would send that card pic to Ron W and see if he did that.

Here's another '76 Koa Omega... I thought they might be 'Sisters' but this one is sequenced about 60 newer. https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=8446.msg98813#msg98813 Could be the same stash of Koa though.

Oak core in 534, and birch primary neck wood, pretty cool :)

472 looks to me like koa on top of a maple core, with birch, Purple Heart and maple neck, that’s my guess.

I noticed the neck pickup has been routed for a larger, different pickup on this bass. Also, the newer pickups output connector wires seem to be modded for the coax connectors on the card.

Seller has located the original pickups and is now adding them to the package...

Either way, that card needs to go back to RW to suss out those added resistors, and to put new co-ax receivers on the card for the original pickups. Too bad about that strange routing around the neck pickup.
