IN-2 would be a good score and sweetens the pot but it doesn't tip the scales in favor of justifying this kind of price. Cool "shop night" bass, though.

I'm thinking we've seen this one before; but if so, I can't find it.

That is about the coolest shopnight I recall seeing. Not sure what they are using to date this to 'early' 70's. Bridge and bird tailpiece are '77 at the oldest. Those pickups certainly aren't the earliest 70's type either. The body pattern is weird too, as in, not a Standard Omega. The headstock looks Irwin-esque. Could it be an older instrument that was retrofitted later? Who knows. Very cool mutt-dragon there. 8)

I'm with you David.    I think we've seen this one already.

That headstock shape is EXACTLY like what Mark Johnson was doing early on.

The pots are stamped 1977.  Isn’t that a similar head to the one on Hammer’s bass?  I saw this recently too, the narrower horns are distinctive, but I’m not sure where I saw it.

I’ve got nothing like that in my stable. All of mine are 80s or newer. If this one actually sells for what is more than $30,000 US, I could sell two of mine and pay off the mortgage on my home. We are going to be able to observe this one for a long time on Reverb at this price.

Ah yes, the one I was thinking of actually has brown headstock laminates, my mistake (nice bass though).  :)

David I thought I'd seen it before but couldn't find it on a search on our forum so thought someone here might know something about it. Looks cool though.

We were discussing IN-2's in another thread that Jazzyvee started.

On this one I zoomed in a bit and the serial number of this IN-2 is 29.   The power cable on this one looks like it was modified to use an XLR connector.    Strange.
