Pam pot is only switching on my Elan

Hello Alembic players,
I am new in this forum and Alembic owner since Yesterday.
I purchsed a beatiful Elan? with a Pan Control Problem.
When I turn it from 100%Neck position towards the center,
for about 30% I hear only the Neck. Then it switches over to only the Bridge Pu.
Can someone help me please?

Hi Peter, firstly welcome to the forum and you do have a great bass. I also have an Elan with twin P-style pickups.
One of the things that is recommended if you have any issues with the knobs or switching is to exercise them. Simply that means rotating knobs through their full range about 30 to 50 times as they are self cleaning and if there are issues relating to crud buildup this moves them away from the working parts. So I would suggest you try that first with all the knobs and see if the situation persists.
You can also move the switch on and off and insert and withdraw the jack in the socket the same amount of times too if you experience noise using those two.

Have you tried exercising the control? The potentiometers on Alembic instruments are self-cleaning. Turning them fully in both directions about 50 times will clean any buildup and usually returns them to working order.

That was it. I had to turn it at least a hundred times until it slowly got better.
Now it is working as it should.
