F1-X with frequency knob that spins 360 degrees
« on: January 12, 2021, 12:33:50 PM »
Hey y'all,

Long time reader. First time owner.

I bought an F1-X from a gentleman via Craigslist outside Austin. He said he purchased it in the 1990s and it's been in storage for quite some time. It sounds great. There is a small hum. I am going to experiment with some new tubes in the upcoming weeks to see if that quiets it at all.

It does have one knob that spins 360 degrees. It's the frequency knob for the hi pass filter. I am wondering what the best way to get a replacement knob. Can they be ordered from Alembic? I don't see them on the online store. I will also need the corresponding knob. I emailed the support contact on the website. I imagine they are busy in the shop and don't expect a hasty reply, which is fine. I'm in no hurry.

Thanks for any input.

Is the knob spinning 360 or is it the potentiometer itself that’s spinning 360?

The pot is spinning 360.

I spoke to Mica yesterday. We are figuring it out. Thanks so much!
