Guitar Stands

Ok so here’s another silly topic that came into my brain because I’m so bored due to COVID restrictions. What kind guitar stands do y’all use? I saw some good ones from K & M. The rest look like the cheap garbage ones I already have.

I've always liked the Hercules stands with the locking yolk.

K and M music stands and Hercules guitar. No others come close IMO.

I like the Hercules stands in my studio.  They are beefy and solid.   For gigs and traveling, I like the K&M Memphis Pro stand as it folds up smaller than the Hercules.  You can’t go wrong with either stand.  There’s also several other previous threads on this subject.  Search is your friend.

I like the Hercules stands, but over time the plastic parts on them can degrade and become both sticky and brittle, particularly if you have natural gas appliances your abode. Still the best though I think.

Pretty sure this is no longer an issue with the Hercules stands. There is another thread here where this was discussed.

I had three Hercules stands for many years, at least five, maybe closer to ten, when the rubberized handle area started to almost melt.  It got very sticky, rendering all three unusable.    I was obviously beyond warranty and had long ago lost any receipt.  I contacted Hercules and described the problem.  They sent me three brand new stands for free, not even charging for postage!  Customer service doesn’t get any better than that!

Another vote for Hercules. With 44 guitars and basses, I need quite a few. 4 multi boats a few upright ones and lots of folding singles. The other 17 are on the walls. I use Off the Wall hangers as you can switch out the holders for guitar or bass. A simple turn sideways and out they come. I even had a friend widen one for 1 of my Alembic 6's .

Another vote for Hercules although I've had issues with the rivets holding the head together on a couple of mine.  Even my DB stand is hercules

Nobody but me likes my stands. Guardian, I think... Distillate sold separately.

Ultimate Support Genesis stands. And for wall hangers, String Swing.

I like the old double-cradle style (what in my roadie days we called "skull inducers" - for reasons I shan't go into in the Wickershams' living room.....).  They were the first I encountered, lo these many decades ago, & it seems to be more a matter of habituation than anything else; that's what pops into my head when you say "guitar stand".

None of my instruments, however, have nitro finishes; there doesn't seem to be anyone making that style nitro-friendly.  And mine are all old enough now that the cushioning is degrading (on some, the tubing I replaced it with is degrading).  Time to restock, I guess.

I also have 2 wall hangers from, IIRC, Kentucky Brown Wood Pedalboards, or something like that.

Hercules stands work great so far.

I would not recommend this type though if you have a heavy bass (like our alembics)

because any little tap causes the weight of the bass to pull the stand over. I had one as a gift and changed it for a different model.


These ones below  so far have been fine.
