'77 Series I on Reverb

This is an interesting one... and weirdly familiar too. #77-934.

*check my post #25 here guys/gals... I believe this bass is a rebuild. I had my eyes on her years ago.

(those symmetrical upper horns and that weird thing I have about remembering serial numbers... ::)) If I'm right, someone did a nice job bringing it back to life.

Is the circuit board mounted correctly? The ones I have seen are mounted at another angle on the brass back plate.

And the pickup selector brass plate appears to not have screw holes in the regular spot.

Note also, the position dots are on the treble side of the neck. That's it. This has to be the same bass. Four years later, it's back.  ;D

Either the seller doesn't realize it's a semi-destroyed/restored bass or they are misrepresenting it. Most certainly is not original condition. Still very happy to see someone fixed it - that poor thing was in awful shape!

*I think the backplate is either upside down (inside-out) or homemade David. (because it was a lefty, and originally mounted on the other wing) I remember the preamp card being 90° turned too.

**the bird tailpiece is even still crooked. ;D

it took me a second to notice the fret position dot fiasco.  Funny that there's no pictures of just the sides of the neck.  the crooked tailpiece jumps right out.

This bass is all original and is in near mint condition. This bass is the perfect player and collector's piece, and has been maintained very carefully throughout it's life.
