Alembic Superfilter
« on: November 26, 2020, 02:51:11 PM »
So a few months ago, I bought an Alembic Superfilter from a member here. I have finally have the bass tone that's been stuck in my head for years finally available to me. I plug in the front and then have each output in the back go to different amps.
My absolute favorite bass tones are the ones used by John Paul Jones and john Entwistle in the 70's. The only downside is that
our band hasn't played since the pandemic started. I cannot wait to bring my new rig out to play live.

Great to hear Matches, I have been using my SF-2 as a preamp for about a year now and I have only used it for reggae it is superb once you get the hang of it. At the moment I haven't gigged many times in stereo mode with two cabs but hopefully now I have two lightweight cabs, there will be gigs that make that kind of setup practical.
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

Welcome to the Alembic Club, Matthew. The SF-2 opened so many sonic possibilities for me as well. It truly lives up to the reputation.

Hey Matches, I feel you on the wait to play with people - I was just starting to put a rig together with my SF-2 in the mix but it's all on hold. Tempted to buy new gear too but finally resigned myself to waiting until being around lots of other people becomes viable again. I'm trying to play a lot to keep in shape but it's all on headphones for now.
