Now here's a model I have not seen before. Probably a Japan only model. I have seen the bass like this.

I knew there was such a model, but only from literature, that is however the first one I have actually seen for sale. Bro. Elwood spotted it a couple weeks ago and brought to my attention. (knowing I'm on this guitar jag right now...)

Interesting that this looks like a glued set-neck or maybe mortise/tenon, where the AJ basses were a 3 bolt design.

Mica, any idea how many of these guitars there might be? Seems like I remember that you only supplied the electronics and logos to an authorized builder in Japan for a limited time in... '86?

*FWIW- I really like that violin-ish body pattern.

I don't imagine there are many of them. The leather gigbag is cool too.

So there is a maple example of an AJ guitar too. Do you remember if it was bolted or a set-neck? 

*Mica posted somewhere, there might be 50 AJ's, not sure if anyone knows how many are basses/guitars. Several of the basses used what look like HB type pickups. There is also at least one other variation on the body pattern.

Hy Ed, i remember little about it really but a the aesthetic of it would for me look good in a straight a head jazz context played by a guitarist such as Pat Martino.
