An instant Alembic connection
« on: October 19, 2020, 02:27:47 PM »

I have no idea what they are looking for for these basses individually or which remain, but that Spalted Applewood Mark King Heart Omega is gorgeous and would be something I'd be looking at if I was in the market.  Then again, make an offer for the bunch and potentially get an instant Alembic collection that includes:

1) A Flame Koa Spoiler that looks to be in great shape
2) The 94 Spalted Applewood Mark King Heart Omega
3) A 97 (Walnut ???) Mark King, AND
4) A 93 Bubinga 6-string Essence

Looks like they are being sold in New Milford Connecticut https://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/msg/d/new-milford-alembic-bass-collection/7196955139.html

Spalted Applewood is interesting... I don't recall seeing another one of them.

*Applewood, FWIW is hard as dad-gummit, and can be pretty heavy too. It used to be the traditional wood used for fiddle bridges. (most of the commercially available ones are maple nowadays, but some fine makers insist applewood is better)

That's a cool look...I'd love to see just how heavy it is for 3-4 hours at a time.
I'd report back in a few years  ;D
