On Netflix: Chasing Trane
« on: August 30, 2020, 12:35:59 PM »
Just watched this on Netflix; it was wonderful.  It's been listed for a while, so you might not want to put off watching it if you think it's something to might want to watch.

Only an hour and a half, so a lot of stuff understandably left out; but still quite insightful, and of course full of beautiful music.  Highly recommended.

Thanks Dave; forwarded to a coworker who is quite enthusiastic about Coltrane's music. (he keeps me pretty well stocked up too...)  ;)

That's been on "My List" for ages; I need to get to it.

And, as long as were talking jazz on Netflix, may I throw out recommendation for Birth Of The Cool, a biopic on Miles.

Yes, that one's highly recommended as well.

Yes - Birth of the Cool is on iPlayer here in UK - it is good.  Also on iPlayer, different genre but have just watched a very moving bio on Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac (he never wanted it to be Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac) - nice humble contribution from Noel Gallagher.
