Alembic in Space ;-)
« on: August 17, 2020, 03:33:15 AM »
Since my name is aboard the Mars 2020 spacecraft - how would it look like playing your Alembic on the red planet?
You can simulate it here: https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/participate/photo-booth/ - I did it already ;-)

I gotta' admit... as much as I like Planet Earth, there's been a few days here lately where I think; shucks, it can't be that bad starting over on another world.  ::)

Hi Spyder, VERY VERY cool that a NASA employee also has a collection of Alembic AND is a bass player. I've seen your Youtube videos and they're great.

My buddy and I had this conversation two days ago that ended in the conclusion that on Mars, we would just take our problems with us, hence human nature is human nature. Wherever you go, there you are.

BUT, at least there'd be an Alembic or two on Mars ! Maybe someday there will be billions and billions ...
My Alembic : - 2002 Excel
                    - 1992 Europa
                    - 1991 Essence

Hehehe...I‘m not a NASA employee although I wish I am 😃. Just participate on the offers NASA is publishing for each „bigger“ mission. You can store your name on some kind of SD-Card onboarded to each such mission.
So I did for the Cassini-mission, for the Parker Solar probe mission and latest also for the Mars 2020 mission.
Everyone can do that - just check the NASA homepage periodically for these options.

Yes...for the future, even ALEMBIC might have a factory on Mars, first models there should be named after Mars‘ moons - „Deimos“ and „Phobos“.

Sending your name all over the universe?  I not too sure about that.  When the aliens invade, who do you think they'll be looking for first!

...as long as they don't beam away my Alembics they are welcome :-) Anyway...it's too late to hide now.
Their reply to the fragment on Voyager's golden record (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voyager_Golden_Record) was: "Send more Chuck Berry!" :-p :-p :-p
