would this be a good conversion project.

i was given this bass today and i think it is an antoria soundmaster. it has hardly seen any action since the late 70's/ early 80's and even then it was just used at for church so its in great condition. the only thing that i can see needs minor attention is the floating bridge has some wear and no string slots cut. I have played the bass a few times in the past and it has that woody tone and is sounds fine. it's a short scale with a narrow but fairly deep neck profile.
I have a pair of AXY pickups, one fatboy and one with the magnet offset closer to the neck so wonder if this might be a decent host for alembicising if i could source some cheap electronics or maybe a blaster od should i leave it as is.

Oooh, I like that - especially the sunburst finish!  :)

Play it through your SF-2 a little while and see how it does as-is. It could be an easy candidate for modding with the electronics mounted on the front like that.
