Hi Mica and Ron.
I tested the pickups simply by adding a battery, and plugging it into my Ampeg amp from my workbench. (no guitar body, neck or strings, just a light tapping on the pickups!) All seemed fine.
The 3 pots in my set all have an ink stamped number, 9137 on them. which I presume MAY be the serial number of the complete set?
My two MXY-56 pickups plug into controls 1 & 2 of the three controls as follows:
1. On the first circuit board is says Alembic 170-043 and on the pot itself, it says Alembic 475-022 40-901. There is nothing but the pot and the connectors on this board.
2. The second control's circuit board has no writing that is discernible on it, but it has just the pot and a few capacitors and resistors on it. The pot is marked 475-022 40-901.
3. The third circuit board has an IC, several resistors and capacitors, and a variable resistor. The pot itself is marked 475-021 40-901* (last number not decipherable as it's covered by a rivet)
So...
Please can you give me any idea of:
a) the date of manufacture?
b) What set the controls actually are?
c) And if I need a capacitor across the input jack, I now have the value but what type of capacitor please? (if it matters!)
And finally, do you adopt 66yr old youngsters like me? I want to come and live with you, you are all so helpful!
Thank you!
