New Song recorded with my Series 1
« on: May 04, 2020, 09:30:17 AM »
This is a new song by The Hunger Artist. I recorded this with my 1980 Series 1 with F2B. I used a Carlin Compressor/Fuzz for the distortion.

Sounds really tasty - when the bass is isolated for a fill about 3/4 thru it fills the whole sound space up!

Listening to that track with all the guitars going on, if I wasn't told the bass was an alembic I don't think I could tell. ( That is not a criticism, just an observation).
I think this may be because virtually all my listening to alembics on records have been Stanley Clarke who has a really up front sound on his albums.  So I don't have any real experience of hearing an alembic bass on record in it's more traditional role in a band apart from myself on stage.
I do like the track though. Great playing Picure, and do you get any say in what bass you use or the tone you think would work best?
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!
