Today they're showing a Shoreline show! 1991 with Bruce Hornsby. Phil played a Ken Smith on the first tune, switched to something else but haven't seen what yet.

We’re watching too, Harry, with my Further and a Blackstar Fly 3 next to me.   I was wondering what kind of bass Phil was playing as I can only see an “S”.  First I did a quick google search, but came up empty.  Then I figured I’d just post it on the site and surely you guys would know.  So I pick up my iPad, log on, and you already answered my question!  I LOVE this forum.  Tina and I are doing well - if one has to hibernate in the Bay Area, this place ain’t bad.  We have two deer mom’s that hang out with their fawns - still with spots.  We’ve named them “Fauci” and “Bernie”.   Best to you and Mika.

Bill - did you ever see the Dead at Shoreline? It's fun watching knowing "I've been there!" even if I never saw the Dead there.

We're doing fine. Probably not going to participate much in the gradual reopening, at least for a couple of weeks. Say HI to Tina and the deer!

Saw them there a bunch of times.  I basically saw them just about everywhere they played in the Bay Area from 1974 on, along with many other venues on the West and East Coasts.   I’m sure if you used computer enhancement and looked hard enough, you could find me in the audience in several Dead show videos.  We feel the same way about staying home as much as we can for now.  Stay safe, and we must have an Alembic Gathering when this is all over!

Alembic Gathering sounds good to me! That would be a great way to emerge from Shelter in Place.

And I know it's not the Grateful Dead but Dead & Co. is streaming now, I only point it out because apparently Branford Marsalis sat in for the whole second set!

I like the Alembic gathering idea, it would be nice to get off the east coast for a long weekend when this is all over....

Gotta admit, I'm stumped by what Oteil's playing at this show - the name is on the tip of my tongue - starts with an A?

EDIT: Nope, looks like it's a Fodera!

Yeah, that was a good show!

This is the only pic I could find of Oteil with the bass he used at the show that was broadcast last night:

(Found here on Oteil's site: https://oteilburbridge.com/fodera-nyc-string-bass/)

But here's what I really hope we see someday!
