This bass is a "can of worms" for sure. There are a whole bunch of problems that could come up trying to correct this bass. Even looks like the broken peghead caught fire or something. Not for the timid.

Wow, I've never seen a break quite like that. It almost makes me think it was repaired once before, and those "fingers" failed. Maybe the burned color was some finish to obscure a previous repair - I'm just guessing here.

The part I wouldn't want to deal with the most is the finish on the edge of the fingerboard. I'm sooooo glad we don't do this anymore. Make future repair work much easier.

At least the switches look correct - just hope the rest of the guts are intact.
