help Series 1
« on: February 23, 2020, 12:07:43 PM »
I just bought a 1988 series 1. I only have a small Ampeg amp available where I am now. I get almost no volume when I plug it in but, I get plenty with my Epic. This is the only Series I have seen. Is there a problem? Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Hi, Bruce.  Welcome to the club and congrats on your new Alembic!  Let’s start at the basics - are you going through the Alembic power supply or using batteries?   If batteries, have you checked them?  Also, have you tried both pickups.  If you have an earlier model, and are running on battery power, your bass may be wired in stereo and will only put out one pickup on battery power.

Bill, tgo

Are you using the power supply or are you running off a battery?

When you turn the selector switch, is the problem the same for both the neck pickup and the bridge pickup?

Have the pickup gain trim pots been turned down?

I tried with the 5pin to the power supply and with the 1/4 in. jack. Both work but, there is just very little volume. Batteries are new.
