Buckeye/Resin topped bass- our first one!
« on: February 12, 2020, 11:16:45 PM »
I've been a little busy lately with the move and all, but I've been meaning to share a snapshot of this custom Buckeye Burl / Resin top bass.

Beautiful. Buckeye and spalted usually aren't my thing, but this looks cool. Is that a balance K with a modified lower horn?

Yes! Keen eye. This is a custom variant, "Balance B"

It's at home with its new owner in Texas.

So the resin fills the voids in the wood?

It is indeed an attractive body shape and I am always a sucker for a Heart Omega.

Paul (actually any Omega cut makes me giddy)

Incredibly beautiful. Can the resin technique be used with quilt maple?

Wow Steve wouldn’t that be amazing with 5A quilted maple. Would you get one of yours refinished?

Subtle and very pretty.
Did you find that the extra density or changed elasticity of the body made any difference in the tone?
(assuming that the resin added density or changed elasticity)

Simply Gorgeous!

Can I send mine in for a refinish and get this done?

Don't think the vacuum chambers can handle a whole bass!
