(x) 97 Custom shop 97C11196
« on: December 23, 2019, 02:33:31 AM »
Hello

97C11196

According to serial it's a custom but seems more like Rogue to me but with different electronics or sth. It's been in my hands for 8 years. I think it's time to get to know it better ;)

Can I get more details please? :)

All the best
Wojtek

It may take a while before Mica can look up the build record, here's a few things we can pick up from the pictures. The body shape is Europa, but it doesn't have the purpleheart neck laminates of a Europa, just the walnut pinstripes like an Essence or Rogue or Signature Standard. The electronics appear to be Epic/Orion (no filter). So definitely a custom order. However, Alembic doesn't have a "custom shop" - they're all built by the same team.

Hi Wojtek,

Well, it is a custom bass, so it's got some of this and some of that. Here's what's in the instrument file:

top: Coco Bolo
accent: Maple pinstripe
body: Mahogany
neck: 5-piece Maple with 4 Walnut pinstripes
scale: 35" extra long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic) ovals
pickups: Alembic MXY56
controls: "Epic" volume, pan, bass, treble, mono output
originally made for: B&B Music, DE
birthday: December 6, 1997

Looks like we repaired a ding on the upper horn in July of 1998. Glad you've been enjoying it for all these years.
