The seller does claim they copied the Alembic preamp in a round about way. However, I could see a buyer thinking they were getting a genuine Alembic product without very careful reading.
"Up for sale is a 2 channel Alembic FX-2. The Alembic FX-2 is a reconstruction of the tube preamp of the invenerable Fender dual showman made famous by David Gilmore of Pink Flowd. This is a redesign of the original that uses a 150 watt hi end solid state amp, producing a high quality warm sound to the guitar amps.
This was originally built for a customer but was loved so much by other guitarist friends and colleagues I decided to build others.
This is a used guitar amp (mostly in the studio) but works amazingly live. Several bands have used this amp with guitar and bass. I'll post videos of the amp in action but serious inquires can demo it at any time for free.
Quite or loud this amp is just great. The tube sound in the preamp section is what we like in guitar amps. It can also be customized if one wants."
I've contacted this seller twice about clarifying the true identity of this piece without a response. They actually don't claim to have copied an F-2B directly. They claim it's a redesign of the original, and blatantly branded as Alembic, which _clearly_ it is not.
Plus they spelled David Gilmour AND Pink Floyd wrong... just sayin'!
