Cyber Monday Sale: 22 rare wide aperture MXY 4 pickups

When we started making the FatBoy versions of the AXY pickup, we also made some of the MXY, but they proved almost impossible to make in the molds - the edges of the coil would poke out and show through the casting on the 5-string versions... not good! So we eventually discontinued this option and squirreled away the remaining stock of the 4-strings in the shells. They look exactly like the regular aperture pickups, so you can mix and match with your originals if you want to.

I've got 22 pieces available in the 4-string version. FatBoys are currently $300, and I'm discounting these to $250. But I figure I should have a cyber Monday sale so $200 each if you want them for your Essence or Europa bass. Call dibs here or email me and I'll get them to you.

Hi Mica,

If I read this correctly, you have a fatboy pickup in the MXY casing (thinner pickup) that will fit a four string bass?

I have a standard four string Rogue (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=5431.msg62702#msg62702) and always wondered what a fatboy would sound like in it. This would be a direct drop-in for either pickup?

If so, I might be interested in one of these.

These are drop-in replacements for MXY4. I ordered a pair for my Epic, with a Pan Preamp. Got to up the oomph when there's a Series instrument in rotation.

I just went to the Mothership today (Friday 12/6/19) and bought a set from Mary along with a T-Shirt. Got the fun set of stickers and a fridge magnet, as well. "Always a hoot", to quote Jerry, visiting the Mothership.

So stoked ! Now I have the option of interchanging one or both pups on my Europa.

The pickup is not as wide of an aperture as a FatBoy, but it's close and it's as big as we can possibly cram in that shell. With the 5-string cast versions, the coils just kept poking out the sides, it's THAT tight.
