It's fun to daydream...
« on: November 02, 2019, 09:11:00 PM »

...Especially when the chances of ever owning a custom Alembic is dependent on the lottery, lol. Still, it's fun to think up cool designs, like this cool little doodle I h'whipped up.

Been a 6-string player since late 2011, and I'm starting to realize that getting into thinner-spaced basses may be the way to go, because the millimeter difference between my EBMM Bongos (17.5mm) and my Schecter Stiletto (16.5mm) is very noticeable, starting to find the Schecter easier to get around the fretboard more (Mostly because I think I have short fingers).

So I based the string spacing on this design on the upcoming John Myung signature Bongos for 2020, 6-strings on a five string neck (14-15mm?), then added the Dragon Wing body. John Entwistle and Myung are in my top 5 all time fav bass players! Been lusting after Exploiters, Spyders, Buzzards and Dragon Wings for about 10 years.

Alembic has done a number of ocean bursts on quilted maple, which looks like what you're going for here; a sea green effect.

Yep, that's what I was going for. AAAAA quilted maple with an Ocean Blue kind of finish. Stunning finish!
