Is it possible to add led's after the fact?

Ive had many Alembic's and the one thing I miss is the LED's.has anyone sent their Bass back to the factory and had them installed.I dont even know if it can be done.I currently have a 83 Distillate.Thanks for everyones kind input

It is possible but it isn't cheap. The fingerboard needs to be replaced, and there will be some refinishing. If you don't refinish the entire instrument, you will see upon close inspection that there was modification, though you'll have to look for it. We do several jobs a year like this, so you're not the only one that thinks about it :)

A far less expensive alternative is FretFX.  For $100 you get your choice of colored LEDs in a thin strip (less than the thickness of a dime) that mounts to the side of the fretboard.  I, along with several other club members, have used them with very positive results.  Are they as good as the Alembic LEDs in my Further or my Series I 12 string?  No way!  But they do get the job done very well on a dark stage.  There are several threads about these if you do a search.

I had my Orion 4 fitted with LEDs afterwards by  https://www.sims.guitars/
I am in UK.  They did a great job.
