Alembic PF-6 question
« on: October 08, 2019, 10:46:59 AM »
Hello to everyone!
I often come to this forum to look at guitars (but prefer bass guitars, he-he), the process of creating instruments, discussions. It is wonderful. But the other day I saw this photo of on-board electronics. What are these components labeled A9 911-57525? I have never seen such components.
Thank you!

These are flat pack integrated circuits. These were manufactured by Harris. Originally the parts had an "R" logo for "Radiation, Inc." who was the manufacturer, which Harris purchased. These surface-mounted parts were military spec before surface mounting was a common thing. These are also radiation-hardened for use in space. These were also the very first dielectric isolation semi conductors and were made in Florida.

At the time these had very low noise, but modern ICs are lower noise.

Thanks for the detailed answer. Military technology in the service of musical art)
I really like the versatility of your musical instruments due to the on-board electronics. I saw this only with Wal and several other guitars, but there, as far as I can tell, I saw operational amplifiers in ordinary cases, therefore I was surprised when I saw the photo :o
I understood that this was an operational amplifier, but I could not find any information, so I asked. :)
