On GC website.  What do you think?

Only one pic and it’s not very clear.  Price is good.  Put some flatwounds on and I’ve got a jazz bass.

Another Club Member checked that one out in-person a couple weeks ago. Here was the thread we had running: http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=24809.0

Thanks. I did a search in the forum before posting, but didn’t see that thread.

I'm a junkie, Steve.  ;D

Seriously though, that one may be had for cheaper later, but there are nicer Spoilers or Persuaders out there for less than $2k. There was a beautiful Vector body that went for $1675 yesterday. If you watch for a while, you might find a factory fretless Essence in that range. Trick is, you just have to grab them before the flipper-sharks do.

I'll keep an eye out. Brian [moongerm] has dibs on the first shortscale fretless I spot.

Thanks Edward.  Always better to have a spotter.   :D

I played a fretless Sire P7 five string recently.  It was a new experience and I loved the feel but I want the Alembic tone.  In the meantime I'm going to put some flatwounds on my spoiler for a bit more 'jazz' feel.  Will keep my S2 with the Alembic Strings and keep dreaming that I'm Phil Lesh.

Here's a short scale fretless on ebay
