So, a few weeks ago She got new glasses, and for the first time in several years has resumed Her lifelong habit of voracious reading. This is a tendency I share, but I have been taking the opportunity to throw on the cans & watch things She has no interest in; in the last couple days that has included Song Of The South: Duane Allman And The Rise Of The Allman Brothers Band (which actually goes up to about Berry's passing); its companion piece (or, more accurately, second part) The Allman Brothers Band After The Crash; Lonestar: Stevie Ray Vaughan 1984-1990 (which actually covers 1983-1990); and Gone With The Wind: The Amazing Rise And Tragic Fall Of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
All are worth the watch - but this is what struck me.
All of them included (naturally) much concert footage, which of course includes shot of audiences full of hot young babes. And not just any hot young babes; hot young babes from when I was...well, perhaps not exactly a hot young dude, but least significantly less broken down. I mean, these are, if not specifically at least generally, the same girls who were in front of the stage when I was gigging.
And it every time I'd think "Oh boy; hot young rock'n'roll babes" it'd hit me - if they're still alive, they're all little old ladies now.........
