Ha! Wish I'd have seen that in June! It was flipped by a dealer in Co. I got it friday ($1400). Needs more than the ad says. Yes, pots need cleaned but the one bridge screw is corroded and won't adjust as well as the bridge pickup screws. Still thrilled to have it and looking forward to getting more acquainted with it

Um, yeah... you'd think even for a for-profit flip someone would have at least addressed corroded screws and scratchy pots.

Glad that bass ended up with someone who will appreciate it. Rotate those pots fully about 25 times each, and see if that doesn't clear them up. Repeat this a couple times if need be. They are sealed, so do not spray them with anything. A little patience and some lube will get those screws loose. (I like Break-Free) Sounds like you have some experience with these things so shouldn't be much challenge. If you need any parts though, the Alembic HQ is fantastic.

Congratulations & Compliments, and Welcome. :)

*incidentally, being a 1993, that is a first-year Epic. I think a pretty early example of the line too.

Thanks! I agree but it is what it is now. Thanks for the info on the pots, haven't gotten around to the servicing yet. And yes, already in contact with Alembic and I have screws and bridge service kit on the way. Decided to try their polish for the Epic poly finish as well. I like break free as well, use it on my cars (97 Prelude in Ohio...we get some rust! :) )

I've done my own setups, cleanups and fretwork for decades. No decent luthiers when I was younger in my area so learned a lot because I couldn't afford to replace my gear when they got worn.

Again, thanks for the heads up on the pots! Looking forward to a long enjoyable future with this. Gotta say, none of the pics I saw before I had it in hand sis justice to the finish and wood grain. man she is pretty!
