I was playing a gig last night and after soundcheck, I ended up having a long chat with the sax player for the support band who's opening words were. "I know you, you are the guy who is all over instagram with your basses!!!!" :o ???

REALLY!!!!??? I find that hard to believe I said because I don't have an instagram account.
I wonder if anyone here has an instagram account and can check for me. I don't have one and probably don't really want to create an account just to look and maybe it's best I don't have any more social network accounts. hahaha

There are many accounts with “jazzyvee” and different variations of “jazzyvee” but none of them resemble you, nor a bassist...

I poked around too, and didn't find anything. I wonder if they didn't necessarily mean strictly Instagram, but some other site like Reddit? What's the one where people save pics they like? Or maybe even just Facebook?

Instagram is fun though! I use it more than Facebook.

I think the guy was just trying to be hip and cool and blurted that out on the off chance you DID have an instagram page full of basses. Because 9 out of 10 times he would have guessed correctly and you would have instantly become his best pal. But this being the 10th time he realized by the face you made that he had blown it ... but was able to smooth talk his way out of it.

Sound about right?   ;)

I don't doubt that for a minute JJ and, no doubt like your good self, I was gracious and polite to him. We did have a long chat about all things music and carpentry. Usually when strangers who are musicians stop me for a chat or just to say hello, it's usually something along the lines of ..... "You are the guy with the alembic aren't you". I've lost count of the number of bass players and stage guys after gigs who have asked for a selfie with me and my alembic because they have never seen one in the wild. Thankfully I have not seen any of those pictures on line. :-)
