My 1985 Electrum 85E3781
« on: April 28, 2019, 12:03:09 PM »
Hey, folks. I thought I'd show a few pics of my Electrum. I'm the original owner. I bought it new at a long-gone music store, RSF Music in Belmont outside of Boston, MA. It's the only electric guitar I ever fell in love with BEFORE I EVEN PLUGGED IT IN. Just the feel of the neck and the sustain... I was in love. At the time, the last thing I needed was another solid-bodied guitar, but I was totally smitten. I think I traded in an old hollow-bodied Vox I had to knock a hundred bucks off the price. It's got one double-coil and two single-coils, which is a combination I don't see in the other otherwise similar Electrums here on the site. I've got the original paperwork from Alembic, but I can't find it at this moment.

It was my main electric for most of the years I played rock and roll. For nearly 20 years I've been doing the singer-songwriter thing, so I haven't been playing much electric. My old band only gets together a few times a year in the basement, so the old girl doesn't see much sunshine. But I just opened up the case, and the smell of the wood is still incredible.

No plans to sell, just thought I'd share.

Now there's something you don't see every day! Welcome to the Alembic Club - very nice guitar.  :)
