Series III electronics?

If Series III electronics were ever to be crafted, what would/could they be?

Piezo bridge saddles and blending electronics.

SF-2 electronics built in to the bass so each channel has High/Band/Low pass filter, volume and damping ratio, then a master volume.

With helium-filled pockets built in to the hollowed out sections so that a strap was used not to hang a 16 lb. bass off one's shoulder but to prevent the bass from floating away.

I saw the title of this thread and when I went to post I saw that brother Jazzy had already posted my intended response.  So how about this:  the side LEDs also function as a strobe tuner!

And, risking a brief hijack, Gregory’s suggestion of pairing magnetic/piezo pickups is right-on.  I just picked up a prototype Wechter semi-hollow with a neck humbucker and Graph Tech Ghost bridge.  The combination is a very nice articulate tone.  And, getting back to the thread, Alembic has done a few guitars with piezos.

For me it would be combining series 2 electronics with a  3 band Glockenklang preamp that has boost and cut.
I have seen a few alembics recently that combine series electronics with a standard preamp type of electronics. Here’s a great example

Ability to control the knobs via MIDI a la Moog's "Real Analog Control" - i.e., the knobs are analog but recall of settings can be done via MIDI.

A concentric filter knob with the ring for blending in the direct signal from the pickup. And perhaps a concentric volume knob with the ring that gives you a second preset volume per pickup, and a four-way switch to select the four possible combinations of preset volumes. And six-way Q switches, as 3 dB increments should be subtle enough for most purposes.

But we need to think of build features too, as a Series II has a few as standard that come as extra on a Series I. How about an ebony neck laminate?

Standard Series II electronics with the addition of a third pickup that facilitates a user selectable individual  discrete output per string with gain controls . These outputs can be routed to external  outboard signal processing equipment  or processed via the internal circuits  of the instrument.

I categorically usually play my Series  I/II instruments with 5 PIN power supply only for various reasons . I am fine with the batteries in the non series units however I always replace the battery before a gig .

Wolf, I agree with fresh batteries before a gig.  My Distillate has had several occasions at rehearsals where the battery started to go.  Another time I was practicing by myself and the battery started to go... in that back bedroom alone with the Distillate as the power faded there were layers of distorted harmonics that was absolutely sublime... if I could put THAT effect into a switch/ peddle - oooh weee!!!     


Sadly that window of audio bliss is a short one.
