That is part of the joy playing Alembics. Even balancing PUs or changing plucking hand position can change the game in a way other basses can't dream. So revealing, so true and transparent. Addictive. I can take other bass to the gigs, but just if asked... hard.
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!

The Epics and Orions get you in the ball park. You can buy one used, and if you like it then rest assured a Signature will only be more awesomeness, and a Series pure bliss.
I’m searching and searching for a used Series I or II or even mark king standard or deluxe used/preowned 6 string bass to pop up for sale, is it ever going to happen? How many has Alembic ever even built?

Should I just roll with the 6 string Orion or Epics that I’m finding online for sale? I know the electronics are night and day difference but for a Modulus 6 string player gigging a couple times a week (Grateful Dead Music), is it going to make a difference in tone? I’m also thinking of just picking up an sf-2 to help with tone. But my dream is a 6 string series II. This is all coming from a guy that has never even picked up an Alembic before.

I have this up for sale right now. Perhaps it might be of interest? https://reverb.com/item/23422860-2018-alembic-wave-6-string-bass-immaculate-unique-many-custom-upgrades

Hey Mik, you may want to try sending an email to the original poster, it doesn't look like he spends much time here on the forum. GLWTS!
