[SOLD] FS/FT:1967 Guild Starfire w Alembic Style Hardware
« on: April 06, 2019, 01:32:34 PM »
     I am now officially saving for an Alembic Series II 32" scale bass. Might even have one built. So I have to decided to sell my 67' Starfire. The bass plays wonderfully with a straight neck and normal lfret wear. Also given a clean bill of health by luthier. Fully functional for recording and live gigs.
     It has its share of finish cracking, nicks, paint chips and honest play wear, what you would expect of a 50 plus-year-old classic!  The bridge upgrade gives the bass more clarity, rumble and sustain that translate up and down the entire neck.
 Comes with a non original Epiphone Casady bass case. More pics available through email request
$3500 plus shipping !!!!

 ::)  [sheepishly looks around]

Well... see what happened was, I uhh... sorta' accidentally sold my green Guild Starfire to one of my bass shop customers. I had recently parted with a couple other basses and some surplus gear too, and Craig's Starfire came along at just the right time. We worked out something equitable for both of us the other day.  ;)

I won't do a Showcase Thread, because it isn't really an Alembic... the only connection is a former Alembic employee did the modifications seen here. That said, I may have a future conversation with Mica about taking some other steps in that direction, but my semi-Alembicized DeArmond Starfire bass will probably cover that for now. Possibly an SF-2 gets bumped up the list.  ;D

You guys will be definitely be seeing this one around though!
