Stonetrout/Bill, tgo gig
« on: April 06, 2019, 11:53:18 AM »
Probably should have posted this earlier.  My band, Stonetrout, is playing tonight at The Art House in Berkeley, 7:30 to 10:00 p.m.  Here’s some info:

wish I could've been there Bill but I was playing out myself - in Scotland :)  Hope you had a great gig.

Hope you had a fun gig, Graeme.  Ours was a blast.  More like a concert than the typical bar gig = and a light show!   Here's a video from last night of my original tune "Me & Billy".  I wrote over 40 years ago as a Grateful Dead/Bob Weir type cowboy song.

Sounds and looks good Bil. Does the Art House have it's own PA and monitors or did you have to bring your own?

The Art House has its own PA, monitors, and light show.  Really easy gig!   I played the guitar I put together with an old Modulus Blackknife neck, Warmoth Flame Koa over Black Korina body with Alembic pickups and electronics.  Here's some more videos:

I went  .  Stonetrout sounded great . I have played in this venue a few times and it is always fun . Stephen , the  house PA  is adequate for sound coverage of the venue however the floor monitor wedges are too few for some needs and the monitor mix may have  to few options as far as the monitor mix  for some tastes .   The light show is very cool and the so is the owner of the venue .  You can bring in your own PA /monitor rig if you chose to however the house rig is fully functional for what it is and still better then  some others that I have experienced  . My Band " Dead Guise" are booked here again on 6/8/19 . The vibe of this venue is truly positive and unique .

Only the vocals are going through the PA.  He has two large Yamaha floor wedges.  We found them more than adequate and we're doing some 3-part harmonies.  I thought about bringing along a couple of extras, but the stage is really too tight to fit them.

We also had our keyboard going  DI through the PA last time and that was when I realized the scenario with the monitor mix and the wedges there .  Otherwise it was ok .  You all sounded great !
